Pookie’s Pet Nutrition & Bow Wow Bakery Announces 2nd Annual Winter RescueFest and Adoption Day, a Fundraiser for Local Non-Profit Animal Rescue Groups.
Pookie’s Pet Nutrition & Bow Wow Bakery will be hosting a fundraiser and adoption day to benefit local non-profit animal rescue groups on January 30th, 2010. Animals being abandoned and turned in to local shelters are at an all-time high due to current economic conditions and this event seeks to increase awareness and promote adoption of homeless pets. Last year’s event featured 18 breed specific and other rescue groups with many dogs and cats getting forever homes.
The event will be held in Winter Park behind the Pookie’s located at 1980 W. Fairbanks Ave. from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. It is a fun, festival type atmosphere and proceeds from raffled gift baskets and grab bags and donations will be distributed to the participating rescue groups. Various pet services including pet trainers, pet sitters, pet communicators, pet boarding and veterinary services will be on site to provide information. Natural foods and supplements company representatives will also be available to share educational information on pet nutrition and several will raffle off a free year of dog and/or cat food.
