In a carefully monitored facitlity at the factory called "the cattery" nearly one-hundred rescued cats are fed our ingredients and examined daily. They are weighed before and after each meal, and a veterinarian checks on them twice a week.

At Weruva, we do not believe in pet food descriptors such as "premium," "super premium" and "gourmet." According to the FDA, such terms "have no standard definition or regulatory meaning."* Moreover, pet foods containing such labels "are not required to contain any different or higher quality ingredients, nor are they held up to any higher nutritional than are any other complete and balanced products."
Weruva produces their formulas in a human food facility using the same ingredients that are used for people. Their base proteins of chicken, beef and fish include only top quality muscle meat, such as white breast meat chicken, whole meat tuna loins, and select cuts of beef, all of which they flake off the bone. They then hand place many of their other ingredients into the cans, such as fresh vegetables and their other value added toppers. This delicate process allows their ingredients to maintain natural and recognizable texture which in turn allows you to see and understand the ingredients that are listed on the can.
